The Commercial Data Regulation (Nizam al-Bayanat al-Tijariyah) was approved by Royal Decree No. M/15 dated 14/4/1423 AH, following Council of Ministers Resolution No. 94 dated 13/4/1423 AH. The law defines "commercial data" to include particulars such as the quantity, size, weight, production date, or expiry date of goods; the place or country of manufacture; the ingredients used; the name or characteristics of the producer or manufacturer; and patents, industrial property rights, or commercial/industrial privileges and awards. Its Article Eleven (as amended) allows the competent court to order confiscation and sale of seized items, with proceeds deducted from compensation and fines, destruction of remaining items, and publication of a summary of the conviction at the violator's expense in a local newspaper or other appropriate medium once the judgment becomes final.
