Foiling the Smuggling of 24 Million Narcotic Pills and 1,417 kg of Prohibited Substances during 2025

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) reported that during 2025 it seized a total of 24,000,000 narcotic and prohibited pills, plus 1,417 kilograms of narcotic and prohibited substances such as hashish, cocaine, and heroin, across land, air, and sea customs ports. It stated that seizures uncovered 1,884 smuggling cases, involving concealment within commercial shipments, vehicles, means of transport, and personal luggage. It also noted that ongoing coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control led to the arrest of recipients of the seized substances inside the Kingdom.
