The Authority Hosts the Chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board

On Sunday, 15/5/1446 AH (17-11-2024), the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants hosted Tom Seidenstein, Chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), and IAASB Board Member Sami Al-Shurafa, with participation from members of the Organization's Auditing Standards and Accounting Standards Boards. Discussions covered developments in international standards under the IAASB's work programme, including International Standard on Sustainability Assurance 5000, revision projects for International Standards on Auditing 570 and 240, and the IAASB's recently issued position on the appropriate use of technology in professional engagements. The meeting reinforces ongoing cooperation between the Organization and the IAASB in standard-setting and application, including participation in the IAASB's National Standard Setters Group and the Organization's mandate to produce the official Arabic translations of IAASB publications.
