Approval of New Amendments to the Implementing Regulation of the Accounting and Auditing Profession System

The Minister of Commerce, in his capacity as Chairman of SOCPA's Board of Directors, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, issued a decision amending paragraphs (4) and (5) of Article 6 of the Implementing Regulation of the Accounting and Auditing Profession System. The amendments provide that SOCPA will review licensing applications that are complete with all required data and attachments, and must decide on such applications within no more than fifteen working days. The amendments come in response to Council of Ministers Resolution No. 571 dated 5-8-1446 AH, which transferred licensing authority for the accounting and auditing profession from the Ministry of Commerce to SOCPA.
