The Authority Participates in the First Meeting of the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum – International Accounting Standards Board

The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, represented by its Accounting Standards Board and its Executive Director of Professional Standards Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rizin, participated in the first meeting of the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum of the International Accounting Standards Board, held via video conference during 24-25 March 2025. Participants discussed the Board's projects to develop IAS 28 (equity method), IAS 32 (financial instruments with equity characteristics), the cash flow statement project, and the post-implementation review of IFRS 16, as well as a research project on intangible assets; SOCPA's representative submitted several proposals on these topics, including proposals on internally developed intangible assets and revaluation model restrictions, and on aligning cash flow statement classification with IFRS 18.
