The Board of Directors of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, at its fifth meeting of its tenth session held on 24 December 2023, issued Resolution No. (1/2) introducing three amendments to the Rules Governing Accounting Services: adding a new paragraph (3) to Article Sixteen empowering the committee to consider violations of the rules upon referral from the competent department; adding an opening obligation clause to Article Eleven requiring licensees to comply with its provisions; and amending Article Seventeen to reduce the waiting period for re-licensing after cancellation from five years to three years. These are the first amendments to the rules since their original issuance under Board Resolution No. (4/1) dated 02-09-1443H.
