The Authority Participates in the Emerging Economies Group Meeting of the International Accounting Standards Board

The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, represented by the Accounting Standards Board, participated in the periodic Emerging Economies Group meeting of the International Accounting Standards Board, held on 28–29 May 2024 in China. The Organization was represented in person by Accounting Standards Board members Abdulrahman Al-Aqeel and Ali Al-Basri, and virtually by Executive Director of Professional Standards Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Ruzain. The meeting discussed several IASB projects, including climate-related uncertainty in financial statements, power purchase agreements for wind and solar energy, amendments to IAS 37, IFRS 3 (business combinations disclosure), IAS 36 (goodwill impairment measurement), and amendments to the classification and measurement of financial instruments.
