The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), represented by its Accounting Standards Board, commented on two draft tentative agenda decisions published by the IFRS Interpretations Committee — on recognition of intangible assets arising from climate-related expenditure, and on assessing indicators of hyperinflationary economies. SOCPA agreed with the Committee that International Accounting Standard No. 29 sufficiently addresses hyperinflation indicators, while on the intangible-assets query it suggested the topic be addressed within the IASB's ongoing project to develop an intangible assets standard, potentially through illustrative examples on capitalization criteria.
