The Authority's Board of Directors Approves Amendments to the Rules Governing Accounting Services

The Board of Directors of the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants, exercising its powers and in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, has approved a set of amendments to the Rules Governing Accounting Services. The amendments cover Articles One, Six, and Seventeen: Article One removes the definition of the Ministry, adds a definition of the Board of Directors, and revises the definition of a license; Article Six, paragraph 4 requires applicants to pay a license fee set by the Board, while paragraph 5 sets a maximum of fifteen working days for a decision and grants applicants the right to appeal a rejection before the competent court; Article Seventeen permits a licensee whose license has been struck off to apply for re-licensing after three years from the effective date of the cancellation decision. The amendments take effect from the date of publication of the decision.
