Saudi Geological Survey CEO Eng. Abdullah Al-Shamrani said the Eastern Region has 28 seismic monitoring stations operating around the clock every day, including holidays, as part of 271 stations distributed across the Kingdom's cities and governorates. He said minerals will become a third pillar of the national economy after oil and petrochemicals, and that the Kingdom will lead in reserves of some raw minerals in the coming years given recent discoveries, positioning it among the top-ranked countries.
