اكتشاف تاريخي شمال السعودية لبقايا كائنات بحرية عمرها 56 مليون سنة
The Saudi Geological Survey announced the discovery of marine creature remains dating to the early Eocene epoch, found in limestone rock layers of the Al-Ru'us sedimentary formation in the Northern Borders region of Saudi Arabia. The fossils, which include bony fish, are the first of their kind found in the Kingdom for this geological period. The fossils were attributed to extinct catfish (Siluriformes), described as significant for understanding the early Eocene environment from a paleogeographic and paleoecological perspective.
