A Team of Geological Scientists and Faculty Members Conducts a Field Trip to Harrat Khaybar

As part of joint scientific cooperation between the Saudi Geological Survey and King Saud University, a team of geological scientists and faculty members conducted a field trip to Harrat Khaybar, covering sites including Jabal Al-Amlas, Jabal Al-Abyad, Al-Bayda, and Jabal Al-Aqir. The trip aimed to survey locations, collect rock samples for chemical analysis, determine the ages of volcanoes, and document lake sites, valleys, and depositional environments, in addition to covering approximately 24 square kilometres of lava flow extensions for future study.
