SAMA Announces the Launch of the New E-commerce Payments Interface

On 07/07/2025, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced the launch of a new e-commerce payments interface aimed at raising the efficiency of payment systems and advancing digital transformation to keep pace with e-commerce sector growth. The interface provides unified specifications for e-commerce service providers to connect and integrate with the national "mada" payments system, along with a central registration service enabling financial institutions to offer innovative financing solutions, and applies technologies such as payment card tokenization to enhance payment security. It also achieves integration for passing transactions between the "mada" system and global payment networks to expand available payment options for users.
