The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced it has commenced licensing fintech companies to provide open banking services, following their completion of the requirements of SAMA's regulatory sandbox. Open banking allows customers to securely share their financial data with entities supervised by SAMA to obtain new financial products and services. The initiative falls under the National Fintech Strategy stemming from Saudi Vision 2030.
