SAMA Issues the Updated Oversight Framework of the Payment Systems and Their Operators

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) issued an updated "Oversight Framework of the Payment Systems and Their Operators," replacing the current "Oversight Framework for Payment and Settlement Systems." The update links the framework's scope to the Payments and Payment Services Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/26) dated 22/03/1443 AH and its implementing regulations, and clarifies the supervisory methodology, including self-assessment and supervisory assessment tools, and the obligations of payment systems and their operators.
