On 25 July 2023, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced permitting Tabi Saudi Arabia for Telecommunications and Information Technology to conduct buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) activity, bringing the total number of companies permitted to conduct this activity in the Kingdom to five. SAMA stressed the importance of dealing only with financial institutions licensed or permitted by SAMA.
