Saudi Arabia Participates in the 66th WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva

Represented by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), Saudi Arabia participated in the 66th WIPO General Assemblies in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 8 to 17, 2025, with the delegation headed by SAIP CEO Dr. Abdulaziz AlSwailem. In his speech, Dr. AlSwailem praised the adoption of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty with 151 countries participating, and announced Saudi developments including accession to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement, launch of operations as an International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority, and a new Mediation Service for intellectual property disputes. He also highlighted activation of the Saudi Fund-in-Trust (SAFIT) and the Kingdom's proposal for an annual Intellectual Property Examiner Day on November 11th. Saudi Arabia joined WIPO in 1982.
