Saudi Accreditation concludes hosting the eleventh General Assembly of the Arab Accreditation Body

The 11th General Assembly of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) concluded today, with the participation of 21 Arab accreditation bodies and authorities. The assembly, hosted by the Saudi Accreditation Center, took place from December 5th to 14th in Riyadh, the Saudi capital. On the sidelines of the meetings, programs and workshops were held targeting stakeholders in the fields of quality and accreditation. During the General Assembly, elections were held, resulting in the unanimous election of the CEO Dr. Adel Alkeaid as President of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) for the upcoming term. The Assembly also announced the renewal and expansion of the Center's international recognition by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). During the General Assembly proceedings, a workshop for stakeholders was held entitled “The Role of Accreditation in Developing the Infrastructure for Conformity Assessment Activity in the Kingdom,” with the attendance and participation of representatives of accreditation and quality fields from the public and private sectors. It addressed several key themes, most notably: the role of the Arab Accreditation Cooperation, regional cooperation, the Kingdom’s pioneering role in this context, and the benefits of the ARAC MLA Multilateral Recognition Agreement and its contributions to facilitating intra-regional trade.
