Monitors rental violations and takes legal action against offenders

The Real Estate General Authority monitored a number of violations of landlord-tenant regulations in Riyadh as part of its ongoing supervisory efforts. A total of 268 reports were received, with 18 landlords found to have breached rental regulations and legal procedures underway against them; violations included raising rental values, increasing rents on vacant properties beyond the last contract value, failing to register contracts on the Ejar platform, and refusing renewal or forcing eviction outside legally permitted cases. Additionally, 11 real estate brokers were referred to the committee overseeing violations of the real estate brokerage system for enabling landlords to commit these violations. REGA called on landlords, tenants, and brokers to comply with applicable regulations and document all contracts through the Ejar platform.
