Riyadh joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, an international platform linking education, culture, and the environment that supports integrating social and environmental issues into curricula and expanding lifelong learning opportunities for all age groups across schools, universities, and communities. The Royal Commission for Riyadh City said the move affirms the city's role in building a future knowledge society.
