General / The International Labour Organization Commends the Kingdom's Achievements in the Field of Occupational Safety and Health

The International Labour Organization commended Saudi Arabia's achievements in occupational safety and health, with the ILO's Regional Director for Arab States, Dr. Ruba Jaradat, citing efforts by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and other bodies. Cited achievements include the formation of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (the first council of its kind in the region), a program to train and employ specialists in the field, and the Kingdom's recent ratification of ILO Convention No. 120 of 1964 concerning hygiene in commerce and offices.
