Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, was briefed on the role of the National Center for Waste Management and the Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) and their strategic plans and investment opportunities in the waste management sector, during a meeting with NWMC CEO Dr. Abdullah Al-Sabai and SIRC CEO Eng. Ziad Al-Shiha. Al-Shiha reviewed SIRC's plan to invest approximately SAR 4 billion over 15 years to achieve a landfill diversion rate of about 94%, noting that SIRC, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, was established by royal order as the Fund's investment arm in the waste management sector.
