The Deputy Minister of Environment Launches the Implementing Regulation of the Waste Management System

Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mashaiti launched the Implementing Regulation of the Waste Management System at an event organized by MWAN. The Regulation covers definitions and terminology, licensing and permit provisions, extended producer responsibility and the waste value chain, contracting for waste-management services, civil and penal liability for service providers, qualification and compensation, voluntary initiatives, import/export of waste, waste-management plans, and violations, penalties, inspection and audit. MWAN holds jurisdiction and oversight of the system.
