Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadli addressed the opening session of the 32nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, held in Cairo, stressing the importance of the environmental topics on the agenda for regional and international efforts to preserve the planet and its biodiversity. He said the Kingdom has launched initiatives and legislation under its 2030 vision, including the National Environment Strategy, established 5 specialized environmental centers, and created an environment fund, and cited a rehabilitated natural vegetation cover increase of about 175% in 2019 compared with 2017 and natural parks totaling 1,069,776 hectares.
