The National Center and PepsiCo Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Promote Environmental Sustainability in Saudi Arabia

The National Center for Waste Management signed a memorandum of understanding with PepsiCo to establish a strategic partnership promoting environmental sustainability in Saudi Arabia, defining the two parties' roles in advancing environmental sustainability policies aligned with international best practices supporting the circular economy. The agreement was signed by the Center's CEO Dr. Abdullah Faisal Al-Sabai and PepsiCo's VP of Food and GM for the GCC and Levant, Tamer Muslim. The partnership's first project, via PepsiCo's Aquafina brand, will deploy solar-powered smart bins around the holy sites in Makkah during the 2020 Hajj season to collect and compress plastic bottles.
