Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli launched the executive phase of the comprehensive strategic plan, the electronic transport document system, and the "Yudeem" program, during the "Sustainable Footprint" event organized by the National Center for Waste Management (Mwan). The Center announced completion of the strategic plan's executive phase across the Kingdom's regions, targeting exclusion of 90% of waste from landfills by 2040, with the exclusion rate currently at 18%. The transport document system tracks waste from source to final destination via a unified digital platform covering six main activities including hazardous waste collection, transport, treatment, disposal and export; the Yudeem program will run during 2025 and 2026, targeting 112 initiatives with 75 entities, aiming to cut participants' total waste by 20% and exclude 25% of their waste.
