The National Center for Waste Management (Mwan) issued the Implementing Regulation for the Waste Management System, to organize and oversee waste management activities, stimulate investment, and improve quality based on the circular economy principle. The Center, established by a Council of Ministers decision in 2019, works on tasks including regulating import/export, collection, transport, sorting, storage, treatment and final disposal of waste, granting licenses under its requirements, running training programs for the sector's technical workforce, and encouraging research and innovation in integrated waste management.
