The CEO of the National Center for Waste Management, Dr. Abdullah bin Faisal Al-Subai, thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince for the Cabinet's approval of the Waste Management Regulation. He stated the approval reflects the state's reliance on the circular-economy principle to achieve sustainability and improve waste-management service quality in line with Saudi Vision 2030, and enables the Center to organize waste management and encourage private-sector investment. He noted the regulation covers waste-management activities across the full value chain for all waste types except radioactive and military waste, and will empower the Center to set a strategic plan, licensing standards, extended producer responsibility, and import/export rules.
