Ministry of Municipalities and Housing Issues Updated Contractor Classification Mechanism to Enhance Project Quality and Raise Sector Efficiency

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has launched an updated contractor classification mechanism aimed at developing the contracting sector, raising project execution efficiency, and reinforcing transparency, integrity, and impartiality. The updated mechanism relies on an integrated evaluation model covering technical, financial, prior execution experience, and institutional capacity dimensions across a wide range of fields, including construction, communications and information technology, catering, cybersecurity, exhibitions and conferences, real estate development, and operations and maintenance. The mechanism operates through a fully automated digital system on the "Balady" platform, enabling applicants to complete classification procedures electronically—from submission through evaluation to self-printing of the classification certificate upon approval—without the need to visit government offices.
