Nusuk Card Leverages Smart Sensor Systems for Crowd Management in Mina
بطاقة "نسك" تدعم تنظيم تفويج الحجاج بأنظمة استشعار ذكية في مشعر منى
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced, for the first time, smart sensor systems integrated with the " Nusuk " card in the Mina holy site. Utilizing innovative and emerging technologies, these systems organize pilgrim group movements based on accurate, real-time data to enhance flow, optimize crowd management efficiency, and support on-ground decision-making during the Hajj season. This initiative expands the role of the " Nusuk " card as a strategic organizational and technical tool. It enables pilgrims to verify their identity and access services through authorized channels. Linked to the unified permit platform, the card facilitates access control to the Holy Sites and the Grand Mosque, significantly improving the efficiency of pilgrim data verification. Available in both physical and digital formats, the card provides seamless access to data and services via electronic channels. This step bolsters the expansion of digital solutions, ensures rapid response times, and elevates service delivery standards throughout the pilgrim’s journey. On the operational front, the " Nusuk " card streamlines movement between locations and service points by allowing field teams to accurately identify pilgrims. This enhances mobility, reduces cases of lost pilgrims, organizes access to camps and transportation, and fosters integration among relevant authorities. Distributing the " Nusuk " card in pilgrims' home countries prior to their arrival in the Kingdom enhances early preparation, organizes movement, and regulates entry to the Holy Sites within a comprehensive operational framework. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah urges Hajj missions and all pilgrims to consistently carry and activate their " Nusuk " cards. The card must be used during all stages of travel and when accessing sites and services. The Ministry emphasized that the card is a mandatory requirement for entry into Makkah, the Grand Mosque, the Holy Sites, and the Rawdah Sharif at the Prophet’s Mosque, playing a vital role in identity verification and safety. Notably, during the 1446 AH Hajj season, over 1.6 million cards were distributed to pilgrims, along with more than 90,000 cards for staff, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance organizational tools and digital services supporting the Hajj ecosystem.
