The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Reviews Results of Simulation Exercises for Serving the Guests of Allah

The Makkah branch of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU) reviewed today the results of the performance indicators of the second hypothetical experiment for transporting and group-guiding of pilgrims for the 1445 Hajj season, and monitored the most prominent challenges that will be addressed during the upcoming hypotheses, in the presence of a number of government agencies and the private sector working within the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) This is part of the early preparations that the Ministry is making with partners, which come our od several hypothetical experiments for the actual operation of this year’s Hajj season. The attendees were briefed on the most important indicators achieved during the second hypothesis, as well as the results of inspection and monitoring operations, and the most prominent achievements to ensure the readiness of participating entities from the public and private sectors whose number hit more than 40 ministries and agencies, in addition to 55 service-providing companies working in the service of the guests of Allah. Three hypotheses remain to simulate the 1445 Hajj. The third hypothesis will include all Hajj operations, another one will be concerned with the Mashaer Train, in addition to a hypothesis for the development project in Mina, testing the process of evacuation, transportation, and group-guiding. The Ministry has achieved many gains in terms of the targets reached through the second hypothetical experiment. including the participation of the Pilgrimage Affairs Offices in providing the services that their pilgrims will receive, and measure the time period among the designated Mashaer locations based on the desires of the pilgrims. It also seeks to benefit from the bus parking locations according to the new coordination to serve Arafat holy site., in addition to testing the readiness and quality of infrastructure, training the participating seasonal staff according to the actual data of the season, empowering the new entities that have joined the system, upgrading the level of knowledge, roles, responsibilities and operational challenges, and working to test spatial connections and time scheduling. Among the gains also in the first hypothetical experiment is the application of the Nusuk card on a number of buses and residences in Makkah, allowing all pilgrims to enter and move around the holy sites. In a related context, the second meeting of the joint working group was held in Makkah on Wednesday, to discuss the operational plan for the transportation and group-guiding system and approve the timetables for group-guiding. during which, the spatial and temporal scope of the Hajj stages and operations were reviewed, a step that starts on the 1st of Dhul-Qi’dah, with the advent of the influx of pilgrims to the Holy House of Allah, until the last pilgrims departure flights through all ports on the 15th of Muharram. During the meeting, the map of the group-guiding operations was reviewed, referring to the numbers of pilgrims expected for this year from inside and outside, and their distribution according to service companies and transportation routes. The most important gains were also discussed, a report of the meeting said, citing the spatial connection between housing sites, transportation movement, ameliorating the transportation system, as well as digital transformation in serving the guests of Allah. During the second hypothetical experiment, which was held at the beginning of the current month of Dhul-Qi’dah the transport of more than 1.2 million pilgrims between the Grand Mosque and all the holy sites was simulated, via 4000 buses, with the participation of more than 12000 staff, an experiment that lasted for more than 17 continuous hours.
