الأطلس التاريخي للسيرة النبوية.. مشروع وطني لتوثيق التراث الإسلامي
The King Abdulaziz Foundation (Darah), in its capacity as the "Historical Memory Partner" of the third edition of the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum, launched the "Historical Atlas of the Prophet's Biography" as part of its participation in the forum held at the King Salman International Convention Center in Madinah. The CEO of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, Turki bin Mohammed Al-Shuwayir, explained that the "Atlas" project is one of the scientific initiatives contributing to the service of the Prophet's biography and enhancing its cognitive presence. It is one of the scientific achievements carried out by the Foundation, aiming to document the sites of the events of the Prophet's biography and transform them into accurate geographical maps and paths that link historical narratives to the locations that witnessed them. Al-Shuwayir pointed out that the launch of the "Atlas" at the forum's main ceremony and the honoring of the Foundation in this gathering reflect the growing interest in enhancing the cognitive dimension in the experience of the Guests of Rahman and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque. He emphasized that the Foundation operates according to a strategic vision seeking to transform historical knowledge into accessible and renewed content that employs modern technologies and serves various categories of beneficiaries. This contributes to connecting them with the context of the Prophet's biography and its sites, following the directives and support of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, who pays special attention to historical documentation projects, making them available, and enhancing their presence in the public consciousness through modern methods that keep pace with digital transformations and serve researchers and those interested. The CEO of the King Abdulaziz Foundation expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Madinah Region, for his support of the Foundation's work and for the honor and appreciation it received from His Highness. This comes as a culmination of the Foundation's efforts in developing qualitative scientific projects, including the "Historical Atlas of the Prophet's Biography" and the "Historical Sites in the Prophet's Biography Forum," which the Foundation organized as part of the forum's activities in cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Program. The forum brought together a group of researchers and specialists to discuss scientific methodologies in verifying and documenting those sites, alongside an accompanying exhibition at the forum that embodies the outputs of the "Historical Atlas of the Prophet's Biography" in a visual and interactive format, offering the visitor a sequential journey through the milestones of the Prophet's biography.
