The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has suspended 3 Umrah companies after detecting violations related to failing to provide accommodation services to pilgrims according to approved contractual programs. The Ministry confirmed that, in coordination with relevant authorities, regulatory measures are being taken against external agents contracted with these companies. The Ministry clarified that some pilgrims arrived in the Kingdom without the approved accommodation, despite these services being documented in the contractual programs, constituting a clear violation of the regulations governing services for pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. It emphasized that the violating companies were required to immediately secure accommodation for all affected pilgrims, noting that the measures were taken promptly within the approved regulatory frameworks to protect the rights of affected pilgrims, prevent recurrence of such violations, and enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims. The Ministry stated that this action reflects its ongoing efforts to ensure Umrah companies and institutions strictly comply with their approved contracts, and its commitment to raising service standards for pilgrims, in line with the directives of the leadership and Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. The Ministry stressed that it will not tolerate any negligence or breach of contractual obligations, affirming that the rights of pilgrims are a top priority, and service quality is a red line not to be crossed, calling on all Umrah companies and institutions to fully comply with approved regulations and provide services according to their contracted programs.
