Under the patronage of the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, the 48th Grand Hajj Symposium will commence next Monday.

The 48th Grand Hajj Symposium, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, will commence on Monday, 4 Dhu al-Hijjah, corresponding to June 10, 2024, in Mecca, entitled “Observing Legal Concessions and Adhering to Regulations in the Hajj Ritual,” with more than 500 participants including dignitaries, scholars, and Islamic thinkers; aiming to unify and enhance efforts in educating pilgrims about facilitation in performing Hajj, as well as developing operational plans in line with the jurisprudential and sectarian diversity of pilgrims to enable ease in performing rituals. The opening program includes a welcoming speech by His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the symposium film presented to the Council of Senior Scholars, a speech from the Grand Mufti delivered on his behalf by His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majid, and a speech by His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa. The first main session titled “Legal and Jurisprudential Concessions in Hajj” is chaired by the Editor-in-Chief of the Islamic Research Journal at the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Dr. Iyad bin Nami Al-Salmi, with the participation of the Vice President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria Hajj Rasaki Oladijo, the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Shawki Allam, His Excellency Member of the Council of Senior Scholars and Advisor in the Royal Court Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, and His Excellency Member of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid. The second main session, titled “Jurisprudence of Concessions and Its Impact on Facilitating Hajj,” is chaired by Member of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Dr. Jibreel bin Muhammad Al-Basili, with the participation of the General President of the Indonesian Scholars Council Sheikh Muhammad Anwar Iskandar, the Emir of the Central Ahl al-Hadith Society in India Sheikh Asghar Ali, Member of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Dr. Sami bin Muhammad Al-Suqair, and His Excellency Member of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Dr. Yusuf bin Muhammad bin Saeed. The symposium also includes a presentation “Enhancing Inclusive Citizenship and Building Bridges” with the participation of the Chairman of the Scandinavian Council for Relations and Member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League Sheikh Hussein bin Ahmed Al-Dawoodi, and a panel discussion titled “Towards Safe Hajj… Adhering to Guidelines and Regulations,” chaired by the CEO of the Guests of Allah Service Program Engineer Muhammad Abu Al-Khair Ismail, with the participation of His Excellency the Director-General of Public Security, Lieutenant General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Bassami. Additionally, the symposium will feature “Minhaj… A Flexible Working Model in a Dynamic Hajj Environment” by the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah for Hajj Affairs Dr. Aidh bin Muhammad Al-Ghuwainem, and the third main session on the Kingdom’s regulatory efforts to facilitate Hajj, chaired by Dr. Aidh bin Muhammad Al-Ghuwainem, with the participation of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul Fattah bin Suleiman Mashat, the CEO of the Royal Commission for Makkah and the Holy Sites Engineer Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Holy Capital Mr. Musaad bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, and His Excellency the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhai. The symposium will also showcase the Two Holy Mosques and future technologies presented by the Digital Experience Consultant at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque Dr. Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Saqr, and will honor the partners of the Hajj and Umrah Symposium.
