As part of the activities of the Al-Balad Al-Ameen Markaz Forum in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Markaz hosted on Sunday evening a Ramadan gathering titled “The Digital Journey in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Ecosystem,” attended by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat; His Excellency the Secretary of the Holy Capital, Mr. Musaed Al-Dawood; a number of leaders from the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem; as well as representatives from several entities, companies, the non-profit sector, opinion leaders, and prominent figures of the Makkah community. The evening began with a speech by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat, in which he expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the Markaz Forum and spoke to the attendees about the transformation being experienced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the current phase of digital transformation, and the targets the ministry is working to achieve in order to enhance services and facilitate the performance of Hajj and Umrah rituals for the Guests of Allah with ease and reassurance. The evening then continued with a panel discussion featuring two speakers: Faisal Al-Hilal, Digital Content Director at the Nusuk application, and Eng. Hamed Al-Maliki, Program Manager of the Nusuk Card. Al-Hilal emphasized that 100 services provided to the Guests of Allah have been developed through the Nusuk application, and that the ministry aims for Nusuk to be a companion for every Muslim across the world and a daily, year-round application, through the services it offers such as the Qur’an, prayer time notifications, Qibla direction, supplications, and other daily essential services for every Muslim. Eng. Hamed Al-Maliki explained that the Nusuk Card is not merely an identification card, but rather contains additional details that further enhance services for the Guests of Allah. For example, it includes information related to accommodation locations and contact numbers of service-providing companies, helping to reduce cases of pilgrims getting lost or disoriented. He also confirmed that the Nusuk Card is issued within only 24 hours, with full technical integration with all relevant entities to facilitate the Guest of Allah’s experience. In addition, the card issues a Hajj completion certificate for the Guest of Allah, preserving this beautiful memory. Within the framework of discussions and interventions, rich and insightful contributions were made by attendees on the sidelines of the evening. At the conclusion of the event, His Excellency Mr. Musaed Al-Dawood honored the guest of the evening, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat, as well as the speakers in the panel discussion, followed by commemorative photographs of this Ramadan gathering. This evening is part of a series of events organized by the “Al-Balad Al-Ameen Markaz” Forum, which focuses on reviewing and discussing distinguished local ideas and initiatives, highlighting successful developmental and economic contributions and experiences of various entities and companies, with the participation of an elite group of decision-makers and experts, aiming to enhance partnership among the governmental, private, and third sectors.
