Tomorrow marks the commencement of the 48th edition of the Grand Hajj Symposium in Makkah, a significant event under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Tawfig bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah. This year's theme, "Observing Religious Permissibility and Abidance to Established Regulations in the Hajj Ritual," will gather over 500 scholars and thinkers from the Islamic world. The symposium will focus on Saudi Arabia's cultural and civilizational contributions to Hajj services and the global Muslim community. The symposium aims to foster intellectual dialogue on key issues affecting the Islamic Ummah, particularly through the lens of the Hajj season. It seeks to enhance academic communication with institutions and researchers globally, promoting integration, fraternity, and acquaintance among the Islamic Ummah's members. Throughout its history, spanning nearly half a century, the symposium has been a cornerstone for scholarly exchange, producing over 200 academic research papers and continuously adapting its focus to reflect the quality of research, guest and topic selection, and alignment with global events and developments. As a leading platform for thought leadership in Hajj-related studies, the symposium's mission is to unite elite scholars and experts to share knowledge, research findings, and best practices. This collaboration aims to enhance the performance and understanding of the Hajj rituals, pushing the boundaries of academic and practical applications in this sacred practice.
