Saudi Deputy Minister of Finance for International Relations, Khalid Bawazier, headed the Kingdom's delegation to the third meeting of the G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies, held May 14-15, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States. He commended progress on the G20 Finance Track this year, emphasizing practical outcomes on sustainable growth, creditor coordination on sovereign debt, and international economic cooperation. The meetings also featured a dialogue with U.S. private-sector representatives on enhancing the private sector's role in economic development, and discussions on global economic developments, sovereign debt challenges, and global imbalances. The United States assumed the G20 presidency from South Africa starting December 2025, focusing on reducing regulatory burdens, energy supply chains, and new technologies.
