The Ministry of Commerce's official spokesperson, Abdulrahman Al-Hussain, outlined 5 requirements that commercial establishments and e-stores must meet when organizing commercial competitions: obtaining an electronic license from the chamber of commerce beforehand, disclosing entry method and prize types, disclosing start/end dates with the prize draw supervised by the Ministry, banning a purchase requirement for draw entry and price increases during the competition, publishing the license number in ads, barring the organizer/relatives/staff from entering, delivering prizes within seven days of the draw, announcing results via the same channels used to announce the competition, and capping the total competition-to-prize-delivery period at sixty days. Violations of these controls are penalized under the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, including public disclosure, imprisonment of up to 3 years, and fines of up to SAR 1 million.
