"Commerce" Clarifies the Annual Confirmation Requirements for Commercial Register Data of Sole Proprietorships
"التجارة" توضح اشتراطات التأكيد السنوي لبيانات السجل التجاري للمؤسسة الفردية
On 24 Dhu al-Qadah 1446, the Ministry of Commerce clarified the requirements for the annual confirmation of commercial register data for sole proprietorships: the register must be active, the owner at least 18 years old, not a government employee, and, for foreign establishments, holding a valid investment license of no less than 90 days. Additional verification requirements apply where the establishment is a cooperative or charitable association, or an endowment. Annual confirmation is done electronically via the "Business Platform" (business.sa) one year after registration; failure to confirm within 90 days of the due date leads to suspension of the register, and failure to confirm within a year of suspension leads to the register being struck off.
