With the Participation of More Than 50 Companies and Establishments... the Ministry of Commerce Organizes an Awareness Workshop for the Precious Metals and Gemstones Sector

The Ministry of Commerce, on Wednesday 17 December 2025 (26 Jumada II 1447 AH), in cooperation with the General Directorate of Financial Investigations and the Standing Committee for Combating Terrorism Financing, organized a virtual workshop for operators in the precious metals and gemstones sector, with participation from more than 50 representatives of institutions and companies in the sector. The workshop covered mechanisms for reporting suspicious transactions, improving report quality, registration steps on the "Taqassi" platform for simplified electronic reporting, and international standards including targeted financial sanctions and risk assessment related to terrorism financing. It is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of regulatory updates and improve implementation of anti-money laundering, terrorism financing, and proliferation financing requirements in the private sector.
