The National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment conducted 1,519 inspection visits across the Kingdom's regions during August 2025, based on indicators of suspected concealment, targeting compliance by commercial establishments across sectors including retail of nuts/coffee/spices, dates, food markets, menswear, and footwear. The visits identified 73 suspected concealment cases, referred to competent authorities, under a law providing for imprisonment of up to five years, a fine of up to five million riyals, and confiscation of illicit funds after final judicial rulings, plus ancillary penalties including establishment closure, business liquidation, commercial registry cancellation, activity bans, collection of zakat/fees/taxes, public naming, and deportation of concealed persons with a re-entry ban for work.
