The National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment Conducts 3,445 Inspection Rounds During May 2026

The Ministry of Commerce reports that the National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment conducted 3,445 inspection rounds across the Kingdom's regions during May 2026, covering activities including frozen meat/poultry retail, vehicle spare parts trade, car maintenance centers, residential building construction, land freight transport, and provisioning, based on indicators of suspected concealment. The rounds identified 135 initial suspected concealment cases, referred for prosecution, with penalties under the anti-concealment law including imprisonment up to five years, fines up to five million riyals, confiscation of illicit funds, and ancillary penalties (facility closure, business liquidation, commercial registry cancellation, business ban, tax/zakat collection, public naming, and deportation of the concealed party with re-entry ban).
