Ministry of Commerce Recalls More Than 71,000 "Hyundai Elantra / i30" Vehicles Due to Airbag Defect and Calls for Immediate Cessation of Driving the Vehicle

The Ministry of Commerce announced the recall of 71,764 "Hyundai" Elantra/i30 vehicles, model years 2009 to 2011, due to a defect in the driver-side airbag inflator that could cause the airbag to rupture and release sharp metal fragments in a collision, risking serious injury or death. The Ministry called on users of affected vehicles to immediately stop driving them and contact local agents Al-Waalan (toll-free 8001240401), Al-Majdouie (toll-free 8003040777), or Naghi (toll-free 8001240191) for free repairs, and to verify inclusion via Recalls.sa.
