"Commerce" Closes Two Warehouses for Food Fraud and Children's Confectionery South of Riyadh and Seizes 8 Tons of Spoiled Products

The Ministry of Commerce closed two warehouses violating fraud regulations in the packaging of expired food and children's confectionery, located in the Aziziyah and Khalidiyah districts south of Riyadh, in coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. The raid seized 8 tons of spoiled food products prepared for repackaging with new expiry dates, along with labels and stamps used for fraud. The Ministry stated that the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law provides for penalties of up to three years' imprisonment, fines of up to one million riyals, or both, in addition to public naming and deportation of violating workers. The matter was recorded as of 25 Muharram 1447.
