Minister of Commerce Participates in the 16th Session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)

Saudi Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi participated in the 16th Session of UNCTAD, held in Geneva until the 23rd of the month, under the theme "Shaping the Future: Leading Economic Transformation for Equitable, Inclusive and Sustainable Development," attended by 60 ministers, 40 deputy ministers and officials from 195 countries. He addressed the impact of Vision 2030 on the digital economy during a ministerial session, noting that the digital economy now contributes 16% of GDP and the private sector accounts for roughly half of GDP. On the sidelines, he held bilateral meetings with trade and finance ministers from Iraq, Oman, Egypt, Costa Rica, Morocco, Qatar, and Algeria, as well as with the Directors-General of the WTO and UNCTAD.
