The National Program for Combating Commercial Concealment Executes 2,502 Visits During January

The National Program for Combating Commercial Concealment, under the Ministry of Commerce, conducted 2,502 inspection visits across the Kingdom's regions during January 2026, based on indicators of suspected concealment. The visits targeted sectors including provisions stores, retail of household fuel/coal/firewood, mobile phone retail, restaurants with service, men's salons, and perfume retail, detecting 82 initial suspected cases referred to competent authorities. Penalties under the anti-concealment law include imprisonment of up to five years, a fine of up to five million riyals, confiscation of illicit funds after final judicial rulings, plus subsidiary penalties such as business closure, liquidation, removal from the commercial register, bans on conducting commercial activity, collection of zakat/fees/taxes, public disclosure, and deportation of the concealed persons.
