Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce and the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development to Support Environmental Sustainability and Greening of Buildings
مذكرة تفاهم بين "التجارة" و"تنمية الغطاء النباتي" لدعم الاستدامة البيئية وتشجير المباني
The Ministry of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Vegetation Cover Development Foundation (Muruj) on the sidelines of the first global Beyond Profit Forum, held in Riyadh from 3 to 5 December 2025. The MoU aims to green the Ministry's buildings and facilities using locally native wild trees to expand green areas and preserve biodiversity. It also covers joint efforts to explore partnerships with private-sector social responsibility and sustainability programmes and non-profit organisations to finance and implement environmental projects, as well as awareness initiatives for Ministry staff on sustainable agriculture, combating desertification, and the importance of local wild plants, alongside the design of specialised environmental volunteering opportunities.
