Minister of Commerce Participates in the Saudi–Norwegian Business Forum in Oslo and Attends the Saudi Embassy's National Day Celebration

The Ministry of Commerce reported that Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, who chairs the National Competitiveness Center, took part in the Saudi-Norwegian Business Forum in Oslo, organized by the National Competitiveness Center as part of a Saudi trade delegation visit, and attended a reception held by the Saudi Embassy in Oslo for Saudi National Day. He stated that Saudi Vision 2030 has driven over 900 legislative and regulatory reforms, helped GDP exceed USD 1.3 trillion, and made Saudi Arabia the largest economy in the Middle East and 17th globally, and noted bilateral trade grew 360% from 2020 to 2024 to reach USD 828 million. Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Cecilie Myrseth said the forum let Norwegian companies meet Saudi businesses, while National Competitiveness Center CEO Dr. Iman bint Habbas Al-Mutairi noted 1,200 regulations and bylaws have been issued or updated to strengthen the Kingdom's business environment. The forum included three workshops on maritime technology, aquaculture and fish farming, and circular economy and industrial decarbonization.
