"Commerce" Clarifies the Steps and Requirements for Reserving a Trade Name

The Ministry of Commerce clarified the steps and requirements for reserving a trade name for a commercial establishment electronically via the Saudi Business Center platform. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and must be the beneficiary of the trade name or an authorized representative. The trade name must consist of Arabic words, Arabized terms, Arabic letters or numerals, or a combination thereof; if in English, it must consist of words, letters, or numerals. The name must not violate public order or morals, be misleading or prohibited, or resemble a reserved or registered trade name, a globally well-known trade name, or a trademark registered or well-known in the Kingdom.
