Implementation of the Decision to Raise the Saudization Percentage in Engineering Professions Beginning 30 June

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, announced the implementation of a decision raising the Saudization rate to 30% in private-sector engineering professions beginning 30 June 2026, applying to establishments employing 5 or more workers in the covered professions per the Saudi Standard Classification of Occupations. The decision targets Saudization of 46 engineering professions, including architectural, power generation, industrial, electronics, automotive, marine, health, technical production, site design, oil and gas, R&D, and aviation engineers, alongside professional accreditation from the Saudi Council of Engineers. Ministry oversight teams have begun monitoring establishments' compliance, with regulatory penalties to apply to violating establishments after the specified grace period ends.
